At least 13 dead in building collapse in India's Hyderabad city
At least 13 people were killed when a building collapsed in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad, on Saturday.

The four-storey building under construction in the busy Narayanguda district collapsed late Friday afternoon.

"We found 13 bodies from the debris," local police officer G Jogaiah said in a telephone interview. "The victims include eight men, four women and an 18-month girl."

All the adult victims were construction workers, he said.

Six people had been rescued from the rubble as of Saturday morning and were being treated at hospital.

Rescue teams continued the work to clear the debris as officials feared that one or two men might still be trapped under the concrete.

Senior administration official Navin Mittal told reporters the building was under constructed without permission from municipal authorities.

"We will take legal action against the builder," he said.

Officials said the builder was adding floors on an old building, which led to the accident.

The students of a private school adjoining the building had a narrow escape. Authorities closed the school after the accident because parts of the facility suffered damage.
