7 killed in accidents in Perambalur, Pudukottai

Seven persons were killed in separate accidents at Perambalur and Pudukottai districts on Monday.
The accident in Perambalur district involving a motorcycle and a government bus took place on the Perambalur–Thuraiyur road near Mungoon in the wee hours. Police sources said four youths were coming on a motorcycle to Perambalur from Adaikkampatti. While overtaking a vehicle, the motorcycle collided head-on with the Thuraiyur-bound government bus from Coimbatore coming in the opposite direction.
The motorcycle rider M. Prabhu (24) his younger brother M. Gopi (17) and S. Suresh (25), all from Nattarmangalam, were killed on the spot, while another pillion rider S. Vijaykumar (21), also from Nattarmangalam, sustained injuries. The injured person has been admitted to the Annal Gandhi Memorial Government Headquarters Hospital in Tiruchi. The Padalur Police have registered a case.
Died on the spot
Four persons were killed on the spot and two others injured when their car, going to Karaikudi, hit against a tree at Oonaiyur near Tirumayam in Pudukottai district on Monday.
Police identified the dead as A. Anand (40) of Nanganallur in Chennai; his wife, Saidevi (35); G.Gunasekaran (39) and his wife Banurekha (31). Car driver Raju and a six-year-old child Nandhu who were injured were being treated in hospital. The Tirumayam police have registered a case.
