A woman was killed and three others injured in a road
accident involving a car and lorry on Chennai-Bangalore National
Highway, near here, on Friday.
According to police, the accident took place around 1 p.m. when the
car driven by S. Sundaresan (37) of Chennai rammed into a stationary
lorry at Vedal on the highway.
While Sundaresan's mother, Rajalakshmi (60), died on the spot, his
wife, Shylaja (30), and sons Muralikarthik (9) and Saiprasath (7),
sustained injuries.
The injured were admitted to a private hospital here.
The Kanchi Taluk police who have registered a case said that
Sundaresan was returning to Chennai from Bangalore when the mishap took
place.
