The government has appointed a Committee of Inquiry to probe the 
circumstances of the Pawan Hans helicopter crash at Tawang in Arunachal 
Pradesh on April 19 that claimed the lives of 17 people. 
The committee, headed by Air Marshal (Retd.) P.P. Rajkumar, will have 
Air Commodore (Retd.) Rai Krishan and Wing Commander (Retd.) Rabinder 
Singh as members. M.J. Singh, Deputy Director of Air Safety, will be the
 secretary. 
The panel, which will also take the help of experts and agencies, if 
need be, will have its headquarters here. It will submit its report to 
the Central government within three months, says an official release 
here. 
Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. has announced an interim compensation of Rs.
 1 lakh for those killed and Rs. 50,000 for the injured. Final 
compensation shall, however, be determined as per law.
