10 killed in road accidents in Visakhapatnam, Andhrapradesh.





Ghastly:The ill-fated vehicle which rammed a lorry at Elamanchili leading to the death of seven passengers in Visakhapatnam district on Sunday.

 Seven youths from the city were killed in an accident on the National Highway near Elamanchili on Sunday morning.
Six youths, one of them a bank employee and the rest students pursuing degree courses and aged between 19 and 27 years, and the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle in which they were travelling, were killed in the accident when their four-wheeler rammed a stationary lorry on the National Highway near Kandaladibba junction in Elamanchili mandal around 6.30 a.m.
They were returning from Upmaka in Nakapalli mandal after attending the marriage of one of their friends on Saturday night.
Five were students
The six who were killed on the spot were identified as Banik Ashish Kumar (27), a resident of Shanti Nagar and working at the MVP Colony branch of ICICI Bank, Kemburi Anvesh (20), who was from Visakhapatnam but studying III year engineering at Vijayawada, Boddeda Hemanth Kumar (22) of Allipuram, who was also a student, Patruni Siva Teja (19) of Allipuram, an engineering student, Avireddy Sekhar (19), a II B.Com. student from Marripalem and Botta Uday Karthik (22), an engineering student. The driver, V. Nani (22) of Akkayyapalem, succumbed to injuries while being taken to hospital.
Superintendent of Police Vineet Brij Lal visited the spot and the case is being investigated by Inspector of Elamanchili J. Praveen Kumar. Parents and relatives of the victims rushed to the spot from Visakhapatnam and it was a pathetic scene at the accident spot. The bodies were taken to Visakhapatnam after post mortem at the Elamanchili Government Hospital.
3 of family killed
Tirupati Staff Reporter writes: Three members of a family, including two children, were killed in a gruesome road accident near Guravarajupalle in Renigunta mandal on the Nellore highway on Sunday morning. The family was returning from Sullurpet in Nellore district in an autorickshaw after attending the wedding of a close relative on Saturday.
K.Venkatamuni (32), a resident of Chintakayala Street in the town, his son Munikrishna (5) and nephew T.Srinivasulu (13), died on the spot when their autorickshaw collided head-on with a Tata Spacio vehicle, which was proceeding to Srikalahasti. Four injured persons were shifted to the Ruia Hospital.
