Bidar: Ten of a family perish in road accident at Humnabad


 Ten persons from a family including two children were killed in a road accident which occurred on the outskirts of Humnabad town in the district on Sunday April 28.All the deceased, who were travelling on a Tavera vehicle to Tirupati, were from Maharashtra.
The accident occurred when the vehicle in which the pilgrims were travelling collided head on with a tanker near the petrol bunk in Chidri.
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Jagannath Sete (38), his wife, Archana (32), children, Abhishek (8) and Vaishanavi (10), Mahipati Nyanu Sete (60), Shahaji Balwant Sete (34), Shamarao Pandurang Jadhav (55), his wife, Kusuma (50), and Vishwanath Narayan (42.
Driver of the vehicle, Lakhan Ashok Chauhan from Koodli village was also among those who lost their lives in the accident. Nine persons died on the spot, while the ten-year-old girl breathed her last while being taken to a hospital.
The pilgrims were from Shahapur village in Panala taluk, Maharashtra. Reportedly, reckless driving on the part of the driver of their vehicle caused the accident. The driver of their vehicle was trying to overtake another vehicle, when he could not avoid hitting the tanker coming from the opposite direction. The tanker driver fled from the spot.
