TTD engineer among 5 killed in road mishap IN TIRUPATI

Police trying to remove the wreckage of the vehicles involved in the road accident at Chandragiri, near Tirupati, on Tuesday.  Five persons including a deputy executive engineer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) died in a road accident at Kundelu Park Dhaba hotel, near Chandragiri on 150 bypass road, 12 km from here, on Tuesday at around 6:45 a.m.
According to Chandragiri CI S Arifulla, TTD deputy executive engineer CS Ramanjaneyulu (54) and three others were returning to Tirupati from Kanipakam in a Maruthi van (AP26D8719), when the driver Reddappa (32) lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a milk tanker coming in the opposite direction.
The van ploughed into the milk tanker, killing all the occupants of the van including the driver instantaneously.
It took serious efforts on part of the police, who rushed to the spot on receiving the information, with help of locals to separate the wreckage and retrieve the bodies.
The deceased were identified as CS Ramanjaneyulu (54) of Tiruchanoor, driver Reddappa (34) of Kanipakam, S Sambaiah (40), president of Tirumala Purohit Sangham and resident of Tiruchanoor, M Nageswara Sharma (55) also a resident of Tiruchanoor and Hanumantha Sharma (45), archaka in Vinkayaka temple at Indira Park in Hyderabad.
According to sources, Ramanjaneyulu along with the three Purohits went to Kanipakam for performing Abhishekam yesterday night. After performing the ritual in the temple this morning, they hired the van of Reddappa and were on their way back to Tirupati.
Overspeed by a sleepy driver was said to be the cause of the accident. The bodies were brought to SVR Ruia Government Hospital for autopsy. Police registered a case and are investigating.
