A 13 year-old-boy was killed and five others injured, some
of them seriously, when a Bangalore-bound Karnataka State Road Transport
Corporation bus plunged into a road-side field . The accident occurred
near Kasipentla on the Tirupati-Chittoor highway, barely 40 minutes
after the ill-fated bus with a contingent of 27 passengers, departed
from the Tirupati central bus station at five in the morning.
The deceased Lakshman Prasad is said to be from Vellore.
The injured were rushed to the CMC, Vellore and the government SVRR
Hospital in Tirupati for emergency treatment. The driver of the bus is
said to be absconding.
In yet another road accident, two persons were killed when their Qualis van met with an accident at Yerpedu near Srikalahasti.
